Debra Ann Nielsen-Salat

I am a hand embroidery artist. I have been doing embroidery almost my entire life as I learned as a child at my grandmother’s side. I love to use two strands of embroidery thread and my hands to express myself in color and texture.

I love to make what I call my tangled thread designs. They are simple designs which I add to by organically choosing just the right color from (you guessed it!) a tangled mass of beautiful colors. They are winding and turning and colorful just as life is.

I am also known for my primitive work and my love of French knots. I hope you enjoy seeing my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
